Gas fireplace repair in Lakewood.

Lakewood homes

What we see in Lakewood.

Lakewood is one of the densest cities in Ohio, and most of its homes were built before 1940 — colonials, bungalows and the classic Lakewood double. Many of those original masonry fireplaces were converted to gas inserts or log sets over the years, and conversions that are twenty or thirty years old are exactly the ones that start acting up on the first cold night.

In Lakewood we see a lot of older gas log sets dropped into original masonry fireplaces, worn thermocouples, and pilot assemblies clogged after a summer of sitting idle. Tight lot lines also mean vent terminations sit close to the house next door, so draft and spillage checks matter here.
